WASHINGTON — Two Shepaug players and one from Nonnewaug were selected to the All-Berkshire League All-Star basketball team last week.

Shepaug was the only team in the league that had two players picked for the seven-man team.

Owen Hibbard, a senior guard, scored 20 or more points in 12 games, with a high game of 48. He set the Shepaug record for most points in a career with 1,482.

Michael Perachi, a senior center-forward, also represented the Spartans on the team. In addition to being a strong rebounder, Perachi was a consistent scorer and had five games of over 20 points, with a high of 26.

Nonnewaug’s high scorer, Jon Khazzaka, was selected for the team. He played mostly as a guard, but was also one of the Chiefs’ top rebounders.

He had a 40-point game early in the season and was above 20 points in many of his games.

Other members of the Berkshire League All-Stars were Curtiss Bliche of first place Northwestern, Dylan Crowley of Gilbert, Dylan Matulis of BLT winner Terryville and Daniel Dieck from Litchfield.
