Nonnewaug’s Ryan Monteiro took fifth place in the pole vault at this year’s Berkshire League Track and Field Championship hosted by Litchfield High School on Saturday, May 20. The Nonnewaug boys earned third place overall in the team rankings.

Shepaug’s Sean Parker made history at the 2017 Berkshire League Track and Field Championships on May 20 by breaking a 44-year-old meet record when he won the boys’ 3200 meter run. His time of 9:33.36 was more than 30 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor, Gavin Woodward of Northwestern. Nonnewaug’s Dylan Geissinger-Tuttle (background, at left) finished in third place.

Mary Bibbey (at right) was a standout for the Nonnewaug girls’ track team again this year, defending her titles in the 800 (pictured), the 1600, and the 3200 meter events, at the Berkshire League Track and Field Championships on May 20. The Chiefs took the team title for the 22nd consecutive year with a score of 190.5. Also pictured are (from left) Shepaug’s Lauren Bresson and Emma Krebs, who finished fourth and second, respectively, in the 800.
