WASHINGTON — Wins over Housatonic and Gilbert last week pushed the Shepaug girls’ basketball team to 12-4 for the season.
In a close game in Falls Village, the Spartans came back from a 39-34 deficit to pull out a late-game triumph, 50-45.
Losing by four points late in the game, Abbey Harty and Rachel Andrews made back-to-back three-pointers to give their team a two-point lead. The Spartans held on over the last two minutes to emerge victorious.
Harty scored 14 points and Lucy Puskas added 10 for the winners. Andrews chipped in with eight, while Brooke Donaghey had seven.
Haylee Lasky scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a 50-17 victory over Gilbert.
Harty tossed in a pair of three-pointers and scored 14, while Marissa Perachi and Eilish Crossley each scored six.
