WASHINGTON — The Shepaug girls’ basketball team lost a pair of games last week. The first was a non-league tilt with New Milford, while the second was a Berkshire League contest with Nonnewaug. The Spartans fell to 1-5 overall.

The Green Wave flowed to a 15-3 lead after the first eight minutes in New Milford. Playing excellent defense, the winners never allowed the Spartans to reach double digits in any of the four periods of play.

The winners were topped by Ilena Feliz with 17 points and Madisyn Gaudio with 12.

Marissa Perachi made eight free throws on her way to 12 points for Shepaug.

Nonnewaug rolled to a 44-27 victory in Washington. The victors moved to 7-1 for the season.

They were led by Mallory Tomkalski with 12 points and Maddie Roden and Ella Lupo, who each totaled eight.

The Chiefs had eight girls make the scoring column.
