MIDDLEBURY-SOUTHBURY — Victories over Masuk and Notre Dame last week improved the Pomperaug boys’ golf team to 3-0 for the season.

Notre Dame did not field enough players to record a team score when the match at Highfield Country Club was played, but the Panthers had a team score of 163.

Dan Casanta was the medalist with a one over par 37. 

Fine scores were also turned in by Jack Szabo at 39, Luke Brower at 40 and Brody Ciriello with a 47.

In a match played at Whitney Farms, the Pomperaug team defeated Masuk, 166-175. 

Casanta was the medalist again, shooting a one under 35. Szabo carded a 39, while Brower and Spencer Ances both scored 46.

Masuk was led by Alex Giugno with a 42 and Justin Carriero with a 43. Their other two scores were each a 45, by Brien Trimbach and Caolin Abbott.
