WASHINGTON — The Washington American Legion baseball team improved to 13-4 for the summer, picking up wins over Danbury and Oakville.
Austin Swanson and Nick DiCandido had two hits each in a 7-5 victory over the team from Danbury. Cole Donaghy chipped in with a double and an RBI. Dom Perachi was the winning pitcher.
On Saturday, Washington nipped Oakville, 5-4, in a Zone V contest.
Donaghy singled and doubled and knocked in two runs in the victory. Ethan and Owen Hibbard and Tim Cianciolo all had a pair of singles for the winners.
C.J. Brito pitched four and two-thirds innings and was the winning pitcher.
Oakville received two singles from Cam DeFeo and a two-run double from Hayden Beauty.
