BETHLEHEM — The Bethlehem Plowboys of the Tri State Baseball League had their backs against the wall, facing elimination last weekend.

The Plowboys headed into the second round of the Tri State play-offs, facing the first-seeded team from Terryville. In the first game of the best-of-three series, Bethlehem lost on Saturday, 8-2. Which meant, they needed to win back-to-back games on Sunday and Monday to advance to the semi-final round.

Both games played after Voices’ deadline.

In the 8-2 loss, Terryville pounded out 16 hits, while limiting the Plowboys to just five. Three of the Blacksox players gathered three hits, including one homer un each; Andrew Hickley, Gavin Lavalee, and local product Pomperaug grad, Nick DeLotto.
