To the Editor:

For the past several years, it has always been a battle to have our property repaired after winter snowplow damage. This year our driveway apron was ripped up, the entire frontage of our lawn, where it meets the road, was severely torn apart with huge hunks of asphalt and lawn thrown up against our front wall, and the asphalt in front of our mailbox had deep ruts that accumulated water and would freeze over.

When I asked my son what we should do, his response was to “call Barbara,” our first selectwoman, Barbara Perkinson.

I never thought about going straight to the first selectman’s office, but my son assured me that she was very approachable and produced results.

So, I snapped some pics of the damages and dropped them off at her office. Within the hour I received a call from Barbara and within 24 hours a crew from Woodbury Public Works was in front of my home loaming and seeding the entire frontage of ripped-up lawn.

The driveway/road patching was also completed as promised. Not only was Mrs. Perkinson extremely friendly and approachable, but she followed through with what she said she was going to do.

That is called “action” in my book. Our lovely town is lucky to have such a responsible, trustworthy and diligent person to run it.
