To the Editor:

This past week, the Southbury Democratic Town Committee came together and nominated 23 incredible candidates for this year’s municipal ballot.

The ticket is led by first selectman candidate John Diehl and Board of Selectmen candidates Justin Bette, Audrie DeRouen and Kim McNeill. While the SDTC is proud of the sizable number of candidates who’ve stepped forward to run under our party banner, we are equally impressed with the quality and credentials that they bring to the table.

While Southbury Republicans bicker amongst themselves, Southbury Democrats are united and focused on the future of the town we share. We are ready for the campaign season and we will neither cease nor desist from speaking the truth, advocating for our values and holding existing officials accountable.

In the coming months, Southbury residents will learn much more about our candidates, their stories and their vision for Southbury. I hope folks will listen and keep an open mind.

There will be real choices to make this November and the SDTC hopes that voters opt for a broad and diverse ticket composed of intelligent, competent and compassionate leaders who will represent all residents and all interests in this wonderful town we call home.
