To the Editor:

On Saturday, August 31, the brothers of King Solomon’s Masonic Lodge No. 7 of Woodbury conducted a food drive in front of LaBonne’s Market on behalf of the Woodbury Community Services Council.

This is our sixth year and we are continually humbled by the kindness and generosity of the people of Woodbury. Our gracious neighbors not only provided an enormous quantity of food and household items to help re-stock the Food Bank’s shelves, but also dug deeply into their pockets and donated a substantial amount of cash.

Robert Taylor, executive director of the Woodbury Community Services Council, says that the Woodbury Food Bank provides weekly access to 125 local families and seniors in need. This program serves both to support proper nutrition and to enable families to conserve scarce financial resources for other household requirements.

Information on the programs of the Community Services Council may be obtained from Bob Taylor at community.services.council@gmail.com or 203-263-3869.

The brothers of King Solomon’s Lodge No. 7 offer our sincere thanks to LaBonne’s Market and to all of those who contributed to help those in need.
