To the Editor:

On Friday, April 9, the Southbury Democratic Town Committee had the distinct honor of hosting the Southbury’s Got Talent virtual variety show over Zoom.

Oh, what a night. Contestants of all ages sang, danced, read poetry, performed classical and contemporary music, and otherwise dazzled the online audience. With so many recitals, plays and other live events canceled over the past year, Southbury’s Got Talent was a lovely reminder of how the arts can still inspire, entertain and bring a community together.

On behalf of the SDTC, I want to thank all of the incredible performer and the warm and receptive crowd of over 70 people who tuned-in to watch.

When the votes were tallied, the winner of the Youth Division was violinist Katherine Mombo and the two winners (a photo finish tie) in the Adult Division were singers Jessica Punchatz and Jacob Rogotzke.
