Woodbury’s Hurd House, 25 Hollow Rd., will be open from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, November 25, to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the first Thanksgiving. The building, owned and operated by the Old Woodbury Historical Society, was built in 1680, and is Litchfield County’s oldest house on its original foundation. Set up and furnished to demonstrate what a home in colonial Woodbury would have been like only a few short decades after the first Thanksgiving, visitors may enjoy light refreshments while docents, including Susan Cheatham (above), share the history of the town and holiday.

Admission is free, with donations accepted.
