MONROE — An August 25 special meeting and executive session of the Board of Education ended with a vote to approve an agreement with Superintendent Jack Zamary that has him staying on with the district in a consultant position through the end of the fiscal year.
Interim Superintendent Joseph Kobza will continue to lead the school district, with Jack Ceccolini serving as interim assistant superintendent.
The board had placed Mr. Zamary and Interim Finance Director Frank Connolly on indefinite paid administrative leave on January 13 for what board members termed employee performance issues and performance issues related to the school budget.
The board then voted to hire Attorney David A. Ryan, Jr., Ryan & Ryan LLC, to investigate the board’s concerns regarding the performance of the two employees.
The board did not disclose the results of that investigation.
Mr. Connolly had been scheduled to leave his position within a few weeks of being placed on leave, but Mr. Zamary had time left on his contract.
