A GRADUATION TO REMEMBER

The Nonnewaug High School administration promised the Region 14 community that this year’s graduation would be one to remember and, as it turns out, it was, not just because we are in the midst of a global pandemic, but rather despite the pandemic. Preceded by a car parade of graduates down Main Street in Woodbury, the school’s drive-through presentation of diplomas to the Class of 2020 on June 20 became something more intimate and even more celebratory than the usual pomp and circumstance. Above, family members of each class member pulled their vehicle up to an unobstructed, picture-perfect view of their graduate’s big moment.

PARADE OF GRADUATES — Region 14 celebrated the Nonnewaug High School Class of 2020 with a car parade of graduates down Main Street in Woodbury on Saturday morning, June 20. Given restrictions on large gatherings in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, community members lined the street to cheer the graduates on in lieu of attending a graduation ceremony and the result was an unforgettable experience for all involved.
