WOODBURY — According to police, Lucille Field, 16 Good Hill Rd., was traveling west at 9:57 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, on Hollow Road and came to a stop at the Hollow Road and Sycamore Avenue intersection.

Julia Ganz, 201 Grassy Hill Rd., was traveling east on Sycamore Avenue as Ms. Field attempted a left turn from the stop sign.

Ms. Ganz struck the rear of Ms. Field’s vehicle.

Ms. Field was issued a verbal warning for failure to grant right of way. Ms. Ganz was issued a verbal warning for traveling too fast for conditions.

NEWTOWN — Police said Joan D. DiCarlo, 18 Still Water Cir., Brookfield, was moving west on Church Hill Road at 10:53 a.m. June 13.

Her vehicle skidded on the rain-covered pavement and struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle.

EMS evaluated Ms. DiCarlo at the scene.

Police issued an infraction for traveling too fast for conditions.

NEWTOWN — Police report Nery Barrera, 7 Harrison St., Danbury, was making a left turn from the westbound travel lane onto the I-84 exit 9 eastbound ramp at 2:56 p.m. June 12.

Christine Marie Weisberg, 66 Grove St., Unit C17, Ridgefield, was traveling on Hawleyville Road.

Mr. Barrera told police he did not realize Ms. Weisberg’s vehicle was so close when he started his turn and the vehicles collided.

No injuries were reported on scene.

Police issued Mr. Barrera an infraction for failure to drive on the right and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

NEWTOWN — According to police, they responded to a report of a missing person at 10:30 a.m. June 8 at a residence on Avalon Way.

A 20-year old male was last seen walking from this residence at 9 a.m.

He is new to the area and has a developmental disorder.

Police searched the area with their K-9 unit and the assistance of Monroe Police and State Police.

The missing person was located at 12:39 p.m. on Wheeler Road in Monroe and safely returned to his family.

NEWTOWN — Police said Jaroslaw Magon, 17 Papoose Hill Rd., responded to a violation of probation arrest warrant at 7:20 a.m. June 7.

Police held him on a $5,000 court set bond and transported him to Danbury Superior Court for arraignment.

NEWTOWN — Police report Angela Gayle Alexander, 77 Toddy Hill Rd., Sandy Hook, was northbound on Wasserman Way at 4:44 p.m. June 11, stopped at a red light.

Bernard Macklin, 1690 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, was also northbound, behind Ms. Alexander.

When she moved forward and then stopped again, Mr. Macklin’s vehicle moved forward and the vehicles made contact.

Police issued a written warning to Mr. Macklin for traveling an unreasonable distance apart.

No injuries were reported on scene.

NEWTOWN — According to police, a vehicle struck a wooden fence at 214 Hattertown Road between 1 and 2 p.m. June 11.

The vehicle left the scene without reporting the incident.

It is described as a gray 2011-2014 Hyundai Sonata with damage to the front headlight and bumper.

Anyone who has information regarding this incident is asked to call the Newtown Police Department, 203-426-5841.

NEWTOWN — Police report Pamela G. Mickewich, 9 Joan Dr., and Sahsa Anne Nanavaty, 28 Currituck Rd., were exiting the parking lot of 14 Church Hill Rd. at 6:01 p.m. June 10.

Ms. Mickewich began to turn right when Ms. Nanavaty’s vehicle came up alongside and the vehicles made contact.

No injuries were reported on scene.

Police took no enforcement action.

NEWTOWN — Police said Natale George Papallo, 12 Winmar Dr., Southbury, was slowing in traffic on South Main Street, approaching Mile Hill Road, at 4:36 p.m. June 10.

He was ahead of Michele Z. Mirmina, 12 Seeley Rd., Trumbull, and the vehicles made contact when he came to a stop.

No injuries were reported on scene.

Police issued Ms. Mirmina a verbal warning for following too closely.

NEWTOWN — Police said Samuel Donovan, 26 Grieb Trl., Wallingford, was at the stop sign on Paugussett Road at the intersection with Berkshire Road at 6:05 p.m. June 10.

He was attempting to turn left.

As Keith W. Brown, 7 Forestview Dr., Sandy Hook, was moving east on Berkshire Road, also making a left turn, the two vehicles collided.

Police note they were unable to determine if Mr. Donovan’s vehicle was in motion at the time of the accident.

No injuries were reported on scene.

Police issued Mr. Donovan a verbal warning for failure to drive in the proper lane.

NEWTOWN — Police report Joseph Matthews, 5 Highland Cir., Naugatuck, was northbound on Mount Pleasant Road at 11:37 a.m. June 8.

Gavin White, 39 Bonner St., Stamford, was southbound on the same road and the vehicles struck head-on.

Both operators were transported to Danbury Hospital and both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Police are investigating the accident.

NEWTOWN — Police said Sarah Liska, 112 Hanover Rd., was parked at the United Methodist Church on Church Hill Road at 6:06 p.m. June 7.

As she was reversing from her parking spot, her vehicle made contact with a parked, unoccupied vehicle.

Police took no enforcement action.

MONROE — Police said they responded to a car that crashed into a tree on Old Tannery Road on June 7.

Police say they conducted an investigation and Brian Denham, 9 Mayfair Ct., Milford, was charged with driving under the influence and failure to maintain lane.

He was released into the care of St. Vincent’s Hospital and was expected in court on June 17.

MONROE — Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 25 on June 9.

According to police, they conducted an investigation and charged Lusvin Alexander Escobar-Salazar, 4 Westview Dr., Danbury, with traveling unreasonably fast, driving under the influence, failure to drive in the proper lane and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

Mr. Escobar-Salazar was released on a $500 cash bond and was expected in court on June 18.

MONROE — According to police, they conducted a motor vehicle stop on Old Tannery Road on June 6.

After conducting an investigation, Andrew Charles Hornak, 47 Grove St., Ansonia, was charged with operating a motor vehicle without the minimum required insurance, operating a motor vehicle while under suspension, operating a motor vehicle without a license and an improper rearview mirror.

He was released on a $500 surety bond and was expected in court on June 17.

MONROE — Police said they responded to a vehicle on Jeanette Street on June 3.

Police said that Francisco Ramirez Reynoso, 163 Barn Hill Rd., was charged with driving under the influence, failure to maintain lane and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

He was released on a $500 cash bond and is expected in court on June 12.

OXFORD – Officer Thomas Guglotti arrested Ronald Monticone, 50, of Elizabeth Street, Derby, without incident on Monday, May 27, for criminal violation of restraining order.

His court dated is Tuesday, July 16, at Derby Superior Court.

OXFORD – Trooper Trainee Michael McKinney arrested Paul Andrew Harrington, 21, of Martinka Drive in Shelton on an active warrant in connection to a larceny that took place April 12 Oxford.

Mr. Harrington was charged four counts of larceny in the sixth degree and was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond.

His court date was June 17 at Derby Superior Court.

ROXBURY – State Troopers frp, Troop A responded to a disturbance call on June 8 at High Meadow Lane and arrested Charles U. Brockett, 18, of 16 High Meadow Lane for disorderly conduct and violation of a protective order.

Mr. Brockett was located in nearby woods and taken in without incident. He was held on a $5,000 surety bond.

His court date is Thursday, June 27, at Torrington Superior Court.

SEYMOUR — Police say they responded to a report of an intoxicated individual at 14 Maria Dr. on June 7.

Police said they found Joshua Penton of the same address in the parking lot. They conducted an investigation and charged Mr. Penton with violation of a protective order, possession of narcotics, use of drug paraphernalia and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

He is due to appear in Derby Superior Court on June 21.

SEYMOUR — According to police a car was seen driving erratically on Bank Street on June 7.

Police conducted an investigation and charged Katelyn Reed, 19 Woodland St., Naugatuck, with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, improper turn/stop signalling, illegal operation of a motor vehicle while under suspension and failure to drive on the right.

Ms. Reed was released on a $1,500 surety bond and is due in Derby Superior Court on June 21.

SEYMOUR — According to police, Sean Harrigan, 437 Rimmon Hill Rd., Beacon Falls, turned himself in on a PRAWN warrant on June 7.

Mr. Harrigan was charged with failure to appear in court in the second degree and is due to appear in court on June 21.

SEYMOUR — Police say they responded to a one-car crash on River Street on June 7.

Police say Antonio Pereira, Jr., 10 Douglas Dr., Oxford, was westbound and hit a guardrail.

The police said they conducted an investigation and charged Mr. Pereira with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence and failure to drive on the right.

He was released on a $500 surety bond and is due in Derby Superior Court on June 21.

SEYMOUR — According to police, a car was seen crashing into another vehicle and not stopping on South Main Street on June 3.

The police conducted an investigation and charged William Pidlipchak, 49 Bissell Pl., with evading responsibility and failure to drive on the right.

He is expected in Derby Superior Court on June 17.

SEYMOUR — Police said they were dispatched to Davis Road to investigate reports of a man with a knife on May 29.

They said they conducted an investigation and charged Nicholas Guarente, 290 Tawny Thrush Rd., Naugatuck, with criminal trespassing in the first degree, threatening in the second degree, reckless endangerment in the second degree and breach of the peace in the second degree.

Mr. Guarente is due to appear in Derby Superior Court on June 14.

SEYMOUR — According to police, a man was seen sleeping in a running vehicle on West Street on June 5.

Police conducted an investigation and charged Douglas McCarthy, 16 Zegmont St., West Haven, with operating a vehicle while under the influence, possession of less than half an ounce of cannabis and the use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was released on a $1,500 surety bond and is due to appear in Derby Superior Court on June 19.
