SOUTHBURY — Lucien Fortier, 26, of Southbury, passed away on October 29, 2021. Lucien was born on July 18, 1995, in Waterbury, to Paul Fortier and Connie Holt and grew up in Southbury.
Lucien graduated from Pomperaug High School, Southbury, in 2014, where he excelled in academics and was an intricate part of the basketball team. He was one of the top players in the All South-West Conference in 2014.
He received an academic scholarship to Western New England University where he played basketball his freshman year.
“A charismatic, sensitive and lovable man has been taken from us too early.” Lucien loved his big raucous and loving family, his dog Toby, and his online friends. He had a passion for dogs, history, sports, the outdoors and hiking.
Lucien is survived by his father, Paul Fortier; mother, Connie Holt; sister, Julia Einhorn; brother, Jacques Fortier; his grandmother, Marjorie Holt; his brother-in-law, Justin Einhorn, and nephews, Luke and Leo Einhorn.
A Celebration of Life for Lucien will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 13, at Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main St., Newtown.
