SOUTHBURY — Josephine Kosik, 97, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2020, after a period of declining health.

Josephine was born October 13, 1922, in Passaic, N.J., the daughter of Stanislaw and Anna Budsynski. A resident of Southbury for more than 47 years, she was happiest being at home with her husband, Bill, tending to their vegetable garden every summer until his passing in 2001.

She was a member of Holy Savior Polish National Catholic Church in Naugatuck.

Josephine loved music, was an avid reader and loved doing word search puzzles. She never missed a Jeopardy game.

She leaves her daughter, Beverly, and her grandson, who were her caregivers. She also leaves a granddaughter, a great-granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by four sisters and one brother.

The family would like to send a special thank-you to RNs Charlene, Katlyn, Asia, Kim, Eric, Arkadiusz, Betsy, Jess, Lindsey and Marcia; CNA Carla, and many more caregivers from Seasons Palliative and Hospice Care in Middlebury. These caretakers were compassionate, caring and supportive during Josephine’s final days.

A grateful thanks to Lois Nelson of Always Best Care of Southbury, who initiated the whole process, and the Southbury Police Department and Southbury Ambulance Association who responded with efficiency and respect. Bless you all.

As per the wishes of the deceased, all services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Munson-Lovetere Funeral Home, Southbury.
