SOUTHBURY — Doris E. Lewis, 90, a lifelong resident of Southbury, passed away peacefully Monday, September 9, 2019, at the Lutheran Home in Southbury.

Doris was born April 17, 1929, in Derby, the daughter of Myron E. and Fanny (Vogelbach) Lewis. She worked for many years at Bardens Company in Danbury before retiring.

She enjoyed and was well-known for her ability to make American Girl doll clothing. She also crafted beautiful porcelain dolls.

Doris was also fond of bingo, playing cards and gardening.

She leaves her sisters, Helen Jurgens, Betty Chapman and Inez Ely, and numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews as well as great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her three brothers, Elmer, Reginald and Robert Lewis.

A funeral service took place September 14 at United Church of Christ, 283 Main St. North, Southbury, followed by burial at Pine Hill Cemetery.
