OXFORD – Ann B. Ives, a lifelong resident of Oxford, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, May 10, 2020.
Ann was born March 8, 1934, in Derby, the daughter of the late Bertha Stack. She graduated from Seymour High School, was a reservist in the Coast Guard and started her career at Farrell Corporation in Ansonia. She spent her entire working career there and loved the people she worked with.
Family was important to Ann and she was happiest hosting them and friends for picnics in her yard. She also enjoyed watching her New York Yankees and UConn women’s basketball.
Besides her mother, she was predeceased by her brothers, Victor Ives, Jr., and Richard Ives.
She leaves behind her niece, Cheryl Sonick; her nephews, David Ives (Lee) and Victor Ives, III (Gail); and her very special cousins, Joyce Niestemski, Susan Chellis and Sandy Blum. She also leaves great-nephews, great-nieces, several cousins and friends who were always by her side.
Her special caretaker, Barbara Taylor, cannot be thanked enough for all that she did.
Due to Covid-19, a memorial service will take place at a later date at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Oxford, where she was a lifelong parishioner and a member of the altar guild. Arrangements are by Ralph Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St., Seymour.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Church, 421 Oxford Rd., Oxford 06478.
