BETHLEHEM-WOODBURY — Region 14 Superintendent of Schools Dr. Joseph A. Olzacki has issued a call for help to local residents.

"The Woodbury Food Bank and Bethlehem Cares need our help," he said in an email to Region 14 parents and friends.

"Nonperishable food is quickly being used by needy families so, as a family, we need to spread the word and begin to collect for our food pantries.

"Since we are providing lunches for every Region 14 student, being picked up at both Mitchell Elementary School and Bethlehem Elementary School already, it makes sense to use these areas for food drop-off every day from noon to 1 p.m."

A donation bin will be placed next to the sandwich pick-up area at each school. Those unable to donate at that time may drop off donations at a bin to be placed outside the front doors of Woodbury Middle School.

"In times of stress, you can rely on our community — our family," he said. "We support each other."
