SOUTHBURY — The Western Connecticut Area Agency on Aging will host two educational events on elder abuse and exploitation in July.

The first will feature the AARP Fraud Prevention Team and state Sen. Kevin Kelly, R-21, discussing financial exploitation from 8:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, at the Litchfield Inn, 432 Bantam Rd., Litchfield.

The second will feature state Department of Social Services workers Kathy Bruni and Effie Morris Ferguson and Attorney Carmine Perri from 8:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, at the Heritage Inn, 522 Heritage Rd.

The seminars are free and include knowledgeable speakers addressing the physical, psychological and financial elder abuse issues that face seniors today, as well as a free lunch.
