Rumsey Hall Welcomes New Head of School After Comprehensive Search

WASHINGTON — Rumsey Hall welcomed Ian Craig, the a new head of school, following a comprehensive search.

Mr. Craig currently serves as interim head of school at Metairie Park Country School, a pre-K through grade 12 school in Louisiana.

He was born in Montreal, Canada, and grew up in Long Island, New York, and is familiar with New England boarding schools. His career path has included teaching, coaching and leading at independent schools.

He has been the head of school at three independent schools, starting with Harding Academy in Nashville, Tenn., where he served for 10 years. 

Mr. Craig will begin his tenure at head of school at Rumsey Hall School on July 1, 2021.
