Chamber of Commerce to Host Mardi Gras Party

NEWTOWN — The Newtown Chamber of Commerce will host a Mardi Gras party from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, February 20, in the Newtown Community Center, 8 Simpson St. “This will be the chamber’s first major event at the new community center, and we’ve got room for several hundred to attend,” said co-organizer and Chamber Vice President Judith Miller. “We’re hoping this will be such a popular event right off the bat, that we’ll make it an annual chamber activity along with our golf tournament and Martini Madness.”

Participants are invited to create their own Mardi Gras masks for a prize competition.

The event offers Louisiana-inspired appetizers, an assortment of French delicacies, batched drinks, a spirits tasting table, a Russian imperial stout, and a pilsner, as well as wine selections and music.

Tickets may be purchased for an advance discount at newtown-ct.com or at the door, with a designated-driver price.
