Kevin Jennings of Southbury is on day 82 of his search for his 7-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog, Amelia, who was frightened and ran out of his house on Mansion House Road on July 16. Since Amelia’s escape, she was most recently spotted in the Morris area. Mr. Jennings asks that those who spot Amelia not to call out to her or approach her, as she is very skittish, but to take a photo and call him at 917-767-8987. Mr. Jennings reports that Amelia, who is a rescue, is very gentle and shy. She will not come to strangers and is most probably in “survival” mode since her escape.

He is offering a $7,500 reward for her safe return, in case someone has Amelia, no questions asked. Mr. Jennings added, “People have been asking for the exact location of the sighting so they can help search. The professionals [dog trackers] have told us that they don’t want people actively searching for her as that will scare her. We are working closely with them to set up cameras and traps, so we can’t reveal the exact location of her last sighting.”
