WATERBURY — Due to Covid-19, Trinity Health of New England was to implement updated visitation guidelines at each of its member hospitals starting Monday, January 3.

Member hospitals include St. Mary’s Hospital, 56 Franklin St.

All visitors will need to show proof of their vaccination status upon entry. Proof should be a paper or digital record issued by an official source and should include the visitor’s name, date of birth, vaccine product and dates of administration for all doses received.

All visitors are required to pass a temperature screening, wear a face mask and wear additional protective equipment if asked by staff. Physical distances must be maintained.

Visitors must go directly to and from patient rooms or designated area. There is no gathering in public areas.

The visitor policy states that only one fully vaccinated adult visitor per patient per day for inpatient units.

One full vaccinated adult visitor is allowed for patients in the Emergency Department. Visitors in the waiting room may be limited further or not allowed during times of high capacity.

One fully vaccinated adult visitor is allowed for patients undergoing surgical procedures. Visitors are allowed during registration, intake, discharge or pick up only.

No visitors are allowed for patients with Covid-19 or persons under investigation.

No one should visit the hospital if they have any symptoms of a cold, flu or Covid-19.
