MIDDLEBURY — Brass City Ballet will hold open auditions for its annual December production of “The Nutcracker” at the studio in The Hamlet, 1255 Middlebury Rd.

Children and adults ages 12 and older with dance experience will audition from 10:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, September 14; children ages 5 to 12 with little or no dance experience are invited to attend the audition from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, September 14 and 15.

An alternate audition for children ages 5 to 12 with little to no dance experience will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday, September 20.

“Brass City Ballet’s ‘The Nutcracker’ is a wonderful community event and tradition,” said Artistic Director Elizabeth Fisk Barisser.

“Our production finds a way to include everyone who seeks a part. The parents get involved, the children discover the magic of the dance theater, and there’s a lot of pride from taking part in this special ballet.”

For those parents whose children have never participated in Brass City Ballet’s “The Nutcracker,” there will be a question and answer session from 2 to 2:30 p.m. September 15, 16, and 22.

Those who cannot attend the auditions can call 203-598-0186 or email info@brasscityballet.org to inquire about alternative audition dates.

There will be an audition fee of $25 and there is a family discount for more than one child, payable on the day of the audition.

More information is available by calling 203-598-0186 or visiting www.brasscityballet.org.
