Washington: Poet to Give Book Reading at Gunn Memorial Library

Susan Kinsolving has received critical acclaim from the New York Times, the New Yorker, Poetry, Kirkus Reviews, the Wall Street Journal, Vanity Fair and Publishers Weekly, and has taught at seminars and schools across the country. She will be reading from and signing her new book “Peripheral Vision” at the Gunn Memorial Library on Sunday, June 23.

WASHINGTON — The Gunn Memorial Library will host internationally acclaimed poet Susan Kinsolving for a reading and signing of her book “Peripheral Vision,” at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 23 in the Wykeham Room, 5 Wykeham Rd.

Ms. Kinsolving’s fourth book of poems explores the world from many points of view. 

She takes her readers to England, Hollywood, Wyoming, France and Chile. 

She goes behind the scenes in a military hospital, an elementary school and a disturbed family.

As a guest poet and lecturer, Ms. Kinsolving has performed at numerous venues including Harvard, Columbia and Yale University, as well as Bad Robot in Santa Monica and Bread Loaf in Vermont.

Books will be available for sale and signing at the event courtesy of Hickory Stick Bookshop.

The program is free and open to the public but registration is requested.
