WOODBURY — Patrons can express themselves and explore diversity through creative writing with Spoken Word Poet MayaRose from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, August 11, in the Woodbury Public Library, 269 Main St. South.

MayaRose uses beginner, intermediate and advanced writing prompts, meditation, and movement games to connect participants with the creative brain.

The master class will be immediately followed by a drop-in open mic from 7 to 8 p.m.

Spoken Word is an easy and accessible medium to use voices to talk about challenging issues that everyone faces in this time and throughout history.

This event is also a way to release stress and a therapeutic personal discovery tool.

Registration is available at www.woodburylibraryct.org or 203-263-3502.
