Newtown: SCAN to Host Yupo Workshop

Adele Moros will lead a workshop called Introduction to Yupo, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, August 17, in the Meeting House, 31 Main St., Newtown. This program is another Summer Art Workshop held by the Society of the Creative Arts of Newtown. “Koi” is a watercolor on Yupo, by Adele Moros.  

NEWTOWN — The Society of the Creative Arts of Newtown will hold another one-day Summer Art Workshop, Introduction to Yupo, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, August 17, in the Meeting House, 31 Main St.

Students will be able to explore working on this exciting polymer surface with a variety of mediums. 

Yupo is a waterproof, synthetic paper perfect for use with alcohol inks and watercolor paints.

Watercolor, alcohol ink, and acrylic will be available.

Adele Moros will work with the class as a group and with the students individually.

She has been teaching for more than 40 years in a variety of mediums.

She is also affiliated with Fine Line Gallery in Woodbury and Gallery 25 in New Milford and has won numerous art awards.

The of the workshop is cost $60 or $80 for non-members and includes all materials.

Anyone interested in enrolling may send a check to SCAN, P.O. Box 41, Newtown, CT 06470, and indicate that the check is for Introduction to Yupo.
