SOUTHBURY — The Gloria Cachion Gallery at the Southbury Public Library will display the work of artist Linda Banks from Tuesday, December 3, through Sunday, December 29, at the library, 100 Poverty Rd. The exhibit will be open during regular library hours, 9:30 a.m.to 5:30 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday; 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday; 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday; and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Ms. Banks is a multi-media artist who owns and operates Banks Art Studio in New Preston.
She has taught children’s art in its many forms for 35 years at Washington Art Association and at multiple after-school programs.
Ms. Banks taught at Brookfield Craft Center for more than 15 years.
She has also taught at Hot Glass Horizons for five years in Corning, N.Y., and in Portland, Ore.
Ms. Banks has taught at Arrowmont Craft School in Tennessee, Fletcher Farm Craft School in Vermont, Farmington Valley Art Center in Avon and Peters Valley Craft Center in New Jersey.
She has taught many adult education classes and private classes in her studio.
Ms. Banks has shown and sold her glass and art at the Washington Art Association, Brookfield Craft Center, Farmington Valley Arts Center, Peters Valley, Fletcher Farm Craft Center, Norfolk Artisans Guild, the Silo in New Milford, the White Silo in Sherman, Canton Art Guild and Canton Clay Works, the Hen’s Nest in Washington, Kent Art Association, Western Connecticut State University and other places.
