MIDDLEBURY —  “Celebrating Summer,” an exhibit of artwork by Shawn Sullivan, a resident of Naugatuck, and his son, Colin Sullivan, originally from Naugatuck, opens with reception from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, August 10, in the Art Gallery at Shutter Speed Photo, 564 Middlebury Rd. The exhibit will be on display from Thursday, August 8, to Saturday, September 21. 

Shawn Sullivan paints in oils in the Impressionist style with a focus on landscapes and people.

He has studied art since his teens, taken classes, workshops and worked with several Connecticut artists. 

Colin Sullivan is a professional travel photographer based in Providence, R.I.

He has been taking photos for more than 10 years, specializing in travel, concert and landscape photography. Colin now shoots in digital format and focuses on capturing moments that tell a story and provide an evocative experience for his viewers.

They will be showcasing a collection of their best representation of the beauty that the summer season offers.
