KENT — Seven photographers from Litchfield County received awards at the fourth annual Kent Art Association Juried Photography Show, which featured photographers from a wide area and in varied mediums.

The show included 79 photographs in both color, black and white, and digital art.

KAA Executive Director Michael Hunt said, “ It’s a diverse show with some excellent work.”

The award winners were Best in Show: “Ismael’s Calling” by Eric Hammer of Torrington; Color Photography: “By the Dumpster” by Jeff Sesco of Winsted; Black and White Photography: “Oregon Coast” by Jason Griska of Litchfield; Digital Art: “Desert Moonrise” by Brad Smith of Kent; Award of Excellence: “Aspens” by Judith Secco of Bantam; Award of Excellence: “Blue Heron” by Linda Hubbard of Sherman; and People’s Choice Award: “Re-Tread Warrior” by Emory Roth of Washington.

The photography show will run from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday to Sunday through December 1 except for Thanksgiving Day, at 21 South Main St.

There will be extended hours to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, November 29 and 30 for the annual Kent Chamber of Commerce Champagne Stroll.

Before handing out the awards for photographic excellence, KAA Co-President Connie Horton told the assembled photographers and guests, “This will be the last show dedicated to photography.”

She explained, “We have photography included in all of our shows and felt it wasn’t fair to the artist’s working in other mediums.”

More information about the show is available at www.kentart.org or 860-927-3989.
