FALLS VILLAGE - After scoring 10 goals in their first two games, both victories, the offense of the Thomaston High School girls’ soccer team managed but one tally in their next two games, both losses.
After a shutout loss to Nonnewaug, the Golden Bears took a bus and headed to Falls Village to take on Housatonic Regional High School on September 27.
Things did not unfold in Thomaston’s favor, as the Mountaineers, led by Sydney Segalla’s four goals, outscored the locals, 8-1.
Danja Dauti scored for Thomaston’s lone goal and Emily Root made 13 saves in goal, but their efforts weren’t enough to offset Segalla and Genevieve Bushey, who added two goals.
Thomaston looked to begin the new month by getting their offense back on track when they hosted Wamogo on October 1.
In a meeting of unbeaten Berkshire League teams on September 24, Nonnewaug handed the Golden Bears their first loss, shutting them out, 2-0 on September 24 to improve to 4-0.
Sofia Pagnamenta and Paige Brandt scored for the Chiefs, who dominated possession-wise, pouring 23 shots on Thomaston goalkeeper Root, who was the player of the game for her 21-save effort.
The Bears, who dropped to 2-1, managed two shots on Nonnewaug goalie Skyla Starziski.
