Xavier Powell of Oakville shined bright for the Nichols College football team in its’ final home game in which the Bison sent their seniors off with a 21-point victory over Curry College. Powell, a junior who was a standout at Watertown High School, accumulated a combined 523 yards of offense, accounting for all six touchdowns scored. Powell went 29-of-38 through the air for a 71.8 completion percentage, recording five passing touchdowns. He scored his lone rushing touchdown as part of his 13 rushes for 40 yards on a six-yard rush from the left hash. With the team’s fourth victory of the 2022 campaign and its first in CCC play, Powell propelled Nichols over Curry in the final regular-season standings.
