Indians’ Cross Country Loaded With Talent

MATT ON THE MOVE - Among the top competitors being counted on by Watertown High School cross country coach Brian LaFontaine during the 2021 season is boys’ junior Matt Creter.

WATERTOWN - The Watertown High School cross country teams will begin the 2021 season with a quad meet against against Torrington High School, WCA and Wilby High School on Tuesday, September14 at Veterans’ Park at 3:30 p.m.

Both WHS teams finished with 2-2 records in the abbreviated 2020 season, but expect that to change this season with a full slate of meets scheduled and a roster loaded with the top talent that head coach Brian LaFontaine has become used to over the years.

SENIORS: Keith Acuna, Julia Caligiuri, Morgan Hodorski, Sara Mustafi, Natalie Nascimento, Andrew Warren, Christian Welcome.

JUNIORS: Michael Allen, Nicholas Basile, Alex Cole, Sara Cox, Matt Creter, Karina Deros, Tristan Enquist, Samuel Faltico, Zach Goetz, Sophia Gugliotti, Ian Metcalfe, Angela Sali, Greg Stroehle.

SOPHOMORES: Andrew Clements, Julian Guerrera, Lana Kolpa.

FRESHMEN: Mark Albino, Cam Ballou, Sebastian Creter, Nathan Fenn, Lillian Khouri, Daniel Matozzo, Christina Mattei, Omer Mustafi, Charles Stroehle.
