OXFORD - On their return to play after a nearly two-year break, the Watertown and Oxford High School golf teams were greeted with less-than-ideal conditions for the season-opening match at Oxford Greens Golf Course on April 12.

After waiting for so long, it could have been blizzard-like  on the course and no one would have cared less after losing the 2020 season.

In rainy, cool, weather it was the Indians who overcame all of it, as they posted a solid 189-241 win over the Hawks, led by co-captain Eric Forte, who finished with a nine-hole round of 44 to earn medalist honors, topping teammate and fellow co-captain Mason LaCapra by one shot..

INDIANS

1. Eric Forte - 44 (medalist)

2. Mason LaCapra - 45

3. Nate LaMadeleine - 53

3. Colin Leach - 53.

HAWKS

1. Mark Barbarito - 49

2. Ryan Bucciferro - 51

3. Albert Marchant - 56

3. Aden Ianniruberto - 58.
