WATERTOWN - The Watertown High School girls’ swimming and diving team closed out the first month of the 2021 season in the best way possible, extending their winning streak to three by outswimming NVL rival Torrington High School, 91-76 at the Reinhold Pool. 

“The girls swam very, very well,” said Hanecak after the Indians improved to 3-1 on September 29.

“We had some personal bests and many swam in events they don’t normally swim, whioch produced some great races.”

Among the top performers for the Indians were Emily Kiernan, Emma Conard, Gabrielle Malenda and Jasmine Pham.


200 medley relay: Gabrielle Malenda, Nadia Andarowski, Emily Kiernan, Jasmine Pham - 2:12.52

200 IM: Emily Kiernan - 2:32.42

50 freestyle: Gabrielle Malenda - 29.08

Diving: Emma Conard - 183.20 points

100 freestyle: Jasmine Pham - 1:04.28

500 freestyle: Kiernan - 6:09.02

200 free relay: Lucy Kite, Maggie Hines, Klea Omeri, Gianna Barry -2:10.65.
