SOUTHINGTON - Former Watertown High School and Northeastern University standout Fior (Arrindell) Griffin will be inducted into the Connecticut Field Hockey Hall of Fame Class of 2019.
Griffin will be inducted at the 20th Annual Hall of Fame Dinner on Sunday, September 15, at the Aqua-Turf Club in Southington.
Cocktails will be served at 3 p.m. followed by dinner at 4 p.m.
Griffin is a 1999 graduate of WHS, where she was a four-year varsity player, receiving All-State First Team recognition in both her junior and senior years.
During her four years at Northeastern, her honors included: Three-time All Conference First Team, three-time America East All-Conference, 2002 Conference Defensive Player of the Year, three-time Northeast Region All-American, and All-American Recognition in 2002.
Griffin graduated in 2004 with a BA in Business followed by a Masters in Accounting in 2005.
Giving back to the sport, she became the Head Varsity Coach at Canton High School (MA) and coached there for nine seasons, recording a record of 138-25-22.
Griffin’s teams were six-time league champions, three-time South Sectional Champions, and in 2007 were Eastern Massachusetts Champions.
