Eastern Connecticut State University Field Hockey Team
MORGAN SANSON - A senior forward on the field hockey team at Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic, the former Thomaston High School standout, as a first-year member on the team in 2018, earned not only her first varsity award, but also LEC Honorable Mention, NFHCA National Academic Squad, LEC Academic Honor Roll and an E-Club Outstanding Scholar Athlete Award. Sanson led the Warriors with 7 goals and 4 assists for 18 points in 15 games last season. Eastern lost it’s season-opener at Salve Regina, 6-1 on August 31. “We need to score more,” said coach Christine Hutchison. “Our players should be used to our new, slower playing surface after last year. In the end, I want Morgan and our seniors to win and have fun.”
BRI NOLAN - Of Watertown is a sophomore midfielder on the field hockey team at Eastern Connecticut State University, where she and Morgan Sanson of Thomaston are teammates. As first-year member on the team in 2018, she earned first varsity letter and was named to the FHCA National Academic Squad. Nolan, a former Watertown High School multi-sport star appeared in 15 games, 5 of them as a starter, scoring 1 goal and adding 2 assists for 4 points.
