WATERTOWN/OAKVILLE - Water-Oak Circle of Sports Organization president Bruce Cianciolo announced award winners for the 43rd Annual Scholarship and Awards Banquet, which will take place Sunday, April 5, at the La Bella Vista, located at the Pontelandolfo Community Club, 380 Farmwood Road in Waterbury.
“Edward Lopes, Ron Stepanek and Victor S. Vicenzi III will be honored as this year’s Circle of Sports award winners,” said Cianciolo. “Along with Ed, Ron and Vic, Fior Griffin will be receiving the Phil Berchonak Award, and Jessica O’Bar DiSapio will be the recipient of the Dominic Romano Special Award.
“Also, the Thomaston Savings Bank will be recognized for all of their community service by receiving the Don Stepanek Community Service Award,” Cianciolo said.
The Circle of Sports is an area association, which has donated time, energy, and money to local organizations and worthy causes.
In the organizations forty-three years of existence, it has awarded close to $820,000 in scholarships and donations to people in the Watertown-Oakville & Greater Waterbury Area.

The Circle of Sports will be holding it’s next meeting on Monday, February 17 at Daveluy’s Restaurant, 150 Echo Lake Road, beginning at 7 p.m.
“We have a busy next couple of months, begining with our meet-and-greet at the Senior Center this Sunday, then our bus trip, pasta dinner, and most importantly our awards banquet on Sunday, April 5,” said Cianciolo.
