To the Editor:

I feel that Catherine and Phyllis have done a great job of running the Falls Avenue Community and Senior Center with what they have.

The center offers many different programs and activities. You should stop by when the center opens again and get a booklet on the monthly activities.

You might be surprised to see what they have scheduled.

When the town wanted to buy the property on Buckingham and Nova Scotia it was stated that the property would be used for a community center and the senior center.

We the seniors were happy to hear that we were getting something new as town officials seem to forget the seniors in Oakville and Watertown.

Now we come to find out that the Police Department needs a bigger building and the town is considering that property for the new Police Department. I am not against a bigger building for the police, but we the seniors keep getting pushed back.

It was over four years ago that the town council met at the senior center to answer questions that the seniors had, and inform us about what the council was doing.

It was Tom Winn who stated that within two years the seniors would be in a new building. We are still waiting.

When will the Republican-controlled town council start thinking about us, the senior population in Oakville and Watertown. We seem to get the hand-me downs. Remember, you will be our age at some point in your life.
