To the Editor:

Thanks to all who made the 18th Annual Diane Burr Memorial 5K a huge success and one of the premier 5K events in the state.

On behalf of my family and the Diane Burr Race Committee, I’d like to gratefully acknowledge the sponsors and volunteers.

The race would not be possible without the generosity of our sponsors, the devotion of our volunteers and of course, all of the runners.

Once again, the kids in the fun run were awesome.

Thanks to our sponsors: JRC Transportation, Seville Material Transfer, Thomaston Savings Bank, Alliance All Trades, Thomaston Oil Company, Thomaston Self Storage, D.M Barberet Jewelers, Greg and Julie Miller, Seabourne & Malley, Crabby Al’s, Al Dugan, Mac and Dan Stancavage (MJM Electric), Thomaston Valley Village, Scott and Kim Theriault, Mona Lisa Ristorante, Roost Power Sports, Edward Jones - Jim Zeller, Barrett Family Oil, Treglia Tile & Marble, Henry M. Finally, thanks to the heart and soul of the race: Joyce Olsen, Rita Klauber, George Seabourne, and the Flag Boys — Dave Colavecchio, Ed Mone, David and Sal Treglia. Scott Theriault, Mac and Matt Stancavage, Matt Tobin, Hal Lamb and Gary Lafferty. Without them there would be no race.

Last year we assisted families with their cancer battles, made donations to the Thomaston Rotary Fuel Fund, Thomaston Food Pantry, and Thomaston Track/Tennis Facility. This year we intend to support similar causes.

Please accept our heartfelt gratitude.

God bless you and your families. Thanks for making Thomaston a wonderful community.
