To the Editor:

We own a retail plaza on Main Street. My tenant called to tell me that there was a sewage backup issue.

I wasn’t sure who was responsible for the mishap, the town with a possible blocked sewage trunk line or my piping going to the sewer system.

I called the police department at 9 p.m., and the dispatcher said she would contact the on-call employee of S&W.

I was shocked that within 5 minutes I had S&W technician Mike Boutote calling me asking how he could help.

Within another 15 minutes he was on site fully prepared with maps in hand.

He pulled three manhole covers to verify the problem was mine, not the town’s.

For the first time in a long time I felt my tax dollars were actually working.

We are in good hands with Vinnie Caterino at the helm, along with Superintendent Mario Mucciccario, and don’t let me forget Mike Boutote who went above and beyond to help me with my crisis.
