To the Editor:
I am writing in support of Cindy Eastman for the Watertown Board of Education. I had the pleasure of working with Cindy from 2017-2019, while I was a member of BOE.
Cindy Eastman has been a Watertown resident since 2003. She has been an educator for over 25 years and holds a master’s degree in Education from Cambridge College in Springfield, Mass.
Cindy has taught in public elementary education as a paraprofessional and technology instructor. She worked at EdAdvance as a professional development specialist and student program coordinator, managing grant programs for the state of Connecticut.
As a PD specialist, Cindy worked in most of the 23 member districts, including Watertown, delivering instruction in technology integration into the classroom and administrative offices.
In addition, Cindy has developed continuing education classes for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UConn Waterbury and Arts Escape in Southbury.
Cindy was a trainer for the Anti-Defamation League, providing diversity workshops and bullying programs. Currently, Cindy teaches English at Naugatuck Valley Community College.
Cindy is a very intellectual, educated, and open-minded woman who is utilizing her education and experience to help Watertown students. Cindy is passionate about improving our school system and creating an equitable education within a beneficial learning environment, for all students.
Cindy understands that a strong education system is the backbone of our community.
I know Cindy will continue to be a strong force on the BOE, and she will do what is morally and ethically right to serve ALL students, not the party.
Watertown BOE needs to continue with fair, equitable, strong leadership. Cindy is one of the most qualified people to continue to serve on BOE. Please support Cindy on November 2nd.
