WATERTOWN — The Parks and Recreation Department hosted an open swim Splish Splash event from noon to 1:45 p.m. Friday, December 27 at the pool in the Garry Smith Natatorium at Watertown High School, 324 French St. Residents were welcome to join their children in the open swim event.

Four lifeguards were at the pool, including Devin Lynch of Watertown, Gavin Butler of Middlebury, Danielle Jacovino of Watertown and Serena Lucarelli of Watertown.

According to Assistant Parks and Recreation Director Carrie Godfrey, the open swim event has been taking place for several years during the schools’ winter break.

During the event, participants were allowed to stay in the shallow end of the pool unless they could swim or were wearing life jackets, which were available for participants.
