WATERTOWN — On Thursday, October 31, School Resource Officers arrested Davon Alvarez, date of birth May 28, 2001 of 59 Fairview St., Apt 1F, Waterbury on the charges of criminal trespass in the second degree and loitering in a school.
At approximately 8 a.m. during student arrival, an unknown male, Mr. Alvarez, was observed entering the Watertown High School behind a group of students.
The male was observed by a school faculty member who stopped the male and notified the police.
SRO Desena, who was in the school at the time, detained Mr. Alvarez.
Investigation showed that he gained access to the school behind students that had been buzzed in the door.
No contraband or suspicious documents were found on Mr. Alvarez or on his phone.
Mr. Alvarez reported that he was curious about what different schools were like.
He reported that he was a college student after graduating from a Waterbury High School last year.
Mr. Alvarez was processed on the violations and was released on a promise to appear in the Waterbury Superior Court on Tuesday, November 12.
Further investigation into Mr. Alvarez is ongoing.
He reported that he had entered another school outside of town this past year.
That incident is under investigation by the appropriate school.
