WILTON — Sister Eileen Eden, a member of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, died on June 23, 2021, at Villa Notre Dame, Wilton. She was 87 years old.

After profession of vows in 1954, Sister Eileen taught in elementary, secondary and business schools in Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

In 1984 she was missioned to St. John the Evangelist School in Watertown, where she taught for two years and served as principal for 14 years. In 2000 Sister Eileen became pastoral minister at St Mary’s in Norwalk.

She was an excellent teacher and administrator, respected and loved everywhere she served. In 2004 Sister Eileen moved to Villa Notre Dame where she ministered in various ways to the sisters.

A private wake and funeral service for the community and family took place Tuesday, June 29, at Villa Notre Dame. Burial followed at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bethel.
