Robert R. “Rabs” Desrosiers

WATERTOWN —Robert R. “Rabs” Desrosiers, 76, of Watertown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Hartford Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Michele (DeSanto) Desrosiers for 47 years.

Bob was born on November 21, 1944, in Central Falls, R.I., a son of the late John and Cecile (Lavigne) Desrosiers. He was a graduate of Watertown High School and was a proud U.S. Marine veteran.

Bob worked many years in the hardware business, including owning his own hardware store. 

He was a volunteer for the Watertown Fire Department for more than 20 years and achieved the rank of captain. He was also a member of the Watertown UNICO Club.

Besides his wife of Watertown, Bob leaves his children, Matthew R. Desrosiers and his wife, Danielle, of Cheshire, and Janelle M. Wilk and her husband, Edward, of Watertown; his brother, Paul Desrosiers and his wife, Lisa, of Watertown sisters, Evelyn Schaer and her husband, John, of Torrington, Claudette Curulla and her husband, Tony, of East Boothbay, Maine, Suzanne Griffin of Watertown and Therese Desrosiers of Torrington; a brother-in-law, Michael DeSanto of Lexington, Mass.; sister-in-law, Carol York of Shelton, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved dog, Becca.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 27, at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 16 Buckingham St., Watertown.

The family has requested that everyone please meet directly at the church. Burial with full military honors will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Calling hours are 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, November 26, at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Pkwy., Waterbury.
