Josephine “Josie” (Cavallo) Cole

PLYMOUTH — Josephine “Josie” (Cavallo) Cole, 52, of Plymouth, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022, at home, surrounded by her loving family, after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Josie was born February 20, 1970, in Waterbury, daughter of Carmela Valenti of Oakville and Michael Cavallo of Waterbury. She worked as an LPN for many years and most recently as an intake nurse for VNA Health at Home.

Josie enjoyed shopping and spending time with her sisters. She was an advocate and lover of animals. Josie was predeceased by her loyal and constant companion, Chunk, the bulldog.

Besides her parents, Josie is survived by her loving husband, Christopher Cole of Plymouth; her daughter, Brittany Cole of Plymouth; her sisters, Lisa Rizzo and her husband, Brandon, of Oakville and Gina Cavallo of Newington; her brothers, Michael Cavallo, Jr., and his wife, Ashlee, of Glastonbury, and Nick Cavallo of Thomaston; her nieces and nephews, David SantaMaria, Debbi Stiano, Landon Cavallo, Kinsley Cavallo and Jaxtyn Cavallo, and her father’s longtime companion, Gigi D’Amico.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 17, at St. John the Evangelist Church, 574 Main St., Watertown. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, 669 Platt Rd., Watertown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue Foundation, Inc., of Plymouth or the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation in Josie’s name.
