OAKVILLE — Elinor (Yanavich) Arnauskas, 99, of Oakville, passed away peacefully Friday, November 15, 2019 at Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of John Arnauskas.

Elinor was born April 28, 1920 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Adam and Anna Juneviceus Yanavich. A graduate of St. Joseph’s Grammar School and Waterbury Catholic High School, she worked for many years as a secretary at Scovill Manufacturing, retiring after many years of service.

She was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Church and a member of the Oakville Senior Center. She enjoyed line dancing and a long life, very well lived. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.

Left to cherish her memory and honor her legacy are her niece, Pamela Shortell and her husband, Ronald, of Waterbury and her nephew, Alan Stadalnik and his wife, Cyndy of Southbury, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Ann Cheplick, Regina Stadalnik and Josephine Ramanauska; and her brothers, John, Joseph and Edward Yanavich.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated November 18 at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 16 Buckingham St., Oakville. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were by O’Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main St., Oakville.
